CLAIRE RAFFERTY - ENGLAND LIONESS SIGNS FOR PRO:DIRECT ACADEMY!
Former England International Claire Rafferty was Chelsea’s longest-serving player and a hugely experienced defender having played at the World Cup and Olympic Games. She joined Chelsea in 2007 and in May 2012 was part of the Blues team that got to the FA Cup Final. Claire won her second domestic double in her final season there, before she announced her transfer to WSL side West Ham Ladies in June 2018, becoming a team mate of PDA's very own Rosie Kmita. Claire was part of the Team GB squad which reached the quarter-finals at the 2012 London Olympics and in 2015 she won the WSL title and the FA Cup.

Claire has represented England since Under-15s level, making her senior debut against Austria in March 2010. In 2011 she was named in the World Cup squad where she made her World Cup debut in the quarter-final penalty-shootout defeat to France. In 2015 she was the first-choice left back in the England side which won Bronze at the World Cup in Canada.

An inspiration to aspiring players, Claire has an economics degree from Loughborough University, and has held down a job as a financial analyst for Deutsche Bank since 2012 alongside her playing career. She has appeared on BT Sport, Sky Sports News, TRT World, BBC 5Live and Yahoo Sports. She represents Pro:Direct as an official Ambassador, visiting our centres across the UK.
