Training Provider: UK Sport Academy 

The 1 or 2 year full-time Football Education Programmes deliver a sports coaching pathway in:

• BTEC Extended Level 3 in Sport (2 year course), entry Requirements 4 GCSE A – C’s

• BTEC Level 2 in Sport (1 year course with a view to progress to level 3), entry Requirements 1-2 GCSE A-C’s

• Fitness Instructor Level 2 & 3 (1 year course), entry Requirements – Completion of level 2 or 3

• Sport Management or Sports Coaching Degree (3 year course), entry Requirements – Level 3 Completion

LUKE MIDDLEWICK - Head of Pro:Direct Academy Brighton

After playing Non-league in the south of England at a number of different semi-professional clubs, Luke had a number of injuries which sidelined him allowing him to turn his head to coaching and transfer the knowledge he had gained to other people.

He decided to travel to North America to gain more experience in a full time environment and travel across the country visiting different states along the way, on his return he began working at AFC Bournemouth within the Academy and the U23's. Luke worked at AFC Bournemouth for 3 years developing a number of players who have gone onto play both in the Premier League and on the International stage.

At this point Luke decided to up skill and begin studying his UEFA B Licence which supported his new roles within football, working at Southampton FC and Poole Town FC (Conference South). During this period of time Luke worked alongside a group which involved young U23 professional footballers and ex-professionals from the likes of Portsmouth FC, Oxford United, Yeovil Town FC, Brighton and Hove Albion and AFC Bournemouth. After working at Southampton FC for 3 years and working at Poole Town FC as Head of recruitment, Manager of the U21's and then progressing to First Team Coach, he was offered a new role within Yeovil Town FC as the Lead U16's coach and decided a new challenge was in order to help develop and progress onto enrolling for his UEFA A licence.

Luke is currently enrolling onto his UEFA A Licence and has now completed his UEFA B Licence/Level 3 Youth Award. Having had the opportunity to travel all over the world with scouting and coaching ranging from South Korea to Germany, he has a wealth of experience in progressing young footballers into the modern game. Now working with Pro:Direct Academy, Luke is approaching a 9th season with in the professional game.
